The Decatur High School chorus will sing with the band Foreigner during their classic hit, I Want to Know What Love Is, onstage Thursday night.
Because they were selected, Foreigner will be donating $500 to the choral department for them to use for its music program. In turn, the Decatur High School chorus will be selling CDs the night of the show, and a portion of all proceeds will be donated to the Grammy Foundation.
In addition, the Bob Jones High School drum line will be opening for Foreigner Thursday night. The Bob Jones drum line is a two-time Southeastern Circuit Gold Medalist, a two-time national drum line finalist, and the recipient of many best-in-class percussion awards throughout Alabama and Georgia. In 2007, the drum line was selected to perform with Keith Urban as part of the artist's "Love, Pain, and the Whole Crazy World" tour. The group has performed for state dignitaries, including former governor Bob Riley's wife, Patsy Riley.
