Decatur Police arrested two people Wednesday on drug charges after a traffic stop at the corner of 7th St. and 9th Avenue SE.

Fernando Martez Ford and Courtney Deshawn Cowley were arrested after officers found marijuana in their vehicle.

Ford and Cowley were transferred to the Decatur City Jail where investigators also found marijuana, cocaine and pills on Ford’s person.

Ford was charged with three counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, tampering with evidence, possession of marijuana, attempting to elude law enforcement, and running a stop sign. He will be transferred to the Morgan County Jail on a $9,500 bond.

Cowley was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance  and was transferred to them Morgan county Jail on $2,500 bond.
