Police: Man makes fake 911 calls to burglarize business | Crime
Decatur Police arrested a man accused of making false 911 calls in order to burglarize a business.
Police said a man named “Billy Horton” called police on October 10 and reported a shooting at Vulcan Materials in Trinity. Trinity Police and EMS responded but found the report was false.
On October 23, dispatchers received a call from “John Strode” who reported a drunk driver in Trinity. Police were unable to make contact with the caller or the alleged drunk driver.
Police later identified the caller of both calls as Christopher Stricklin of Hillsboro.
Officers interviewed Stricklin and he admitted to making the calls in order to distract police so he could burglarize a business.
He was arrested on November 21 and charged with two counts of false reporting.
Trinity Police arrested Stricklin and charged him with burglary subsequent to the false calls.
