DECATUR, AL (WAFF)- A man was arrested on domestic violence charges when a
police officer went to check on his victim.
Police said the victim had not showed up for a scheduled appointment
so they went to check on her. When they arrived, they found a domestic dispute
going on.
The woman's face was red, swollen and scratched. She had a
swollen eye and marks on her neck.
The victim said that her boyfriend, Jose Dorsett, had
assaulted her.
The officer also noticed guns in the home. The victim said Dorsett
threatened to shoot himself.
The officer discovered Dorsett had three active warrants for
his arrest. He was arrested and charged with domestic violence by strangulation,
two counts of domestic violence and three misdemeanor warrants.
His bond was set at $60,000.
