2 arrested after vehicle stolen, stripped | News

DECATUR, AL (WAFF)- Two people are in jail for allegedly stealing a car in
Decatur.

The victim reported a 1993 Ford Taurus was stolen in the
area of Mark Street on November 7, 2012.

The vehicle was located in Lawrence County. Officials said
it was stripped and being prepared for scrap.

Investigators identified Shannon Carpenter and David Cheeks
as suspects.

Cheeks was arrested on December 7. Carpenter was arrested on
December 24 for manufacturing a controlled substance and transferred to Morgan
County on January 7.

They were charged with theft of property.
