Decatur, Huntsville mayors meet for lunch | People

Decatur Mayor Don Kyle and Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle had their first meeting as leaders of their respective cities Tuesday during an informal luncheon.

They met at the Greenbrier restaurant to talk about what Mayor Kyle called "mayor business."

It was an informal meeting where the two leaders talked about their cities and economic development in the region, it was not a policy meeting.

While it was their first face-to-face meeting, they have talked a couple of times on the phone since Kyle won election.

Kyle also says he and Mayor Battle have been friends since they first met in the mid-1980's.

Mayor Kyle says more meetings are planned in the future.
